About the Concert

Welcome to our ChhiFen Music spring concert for 2018. This afternoon our historical musical journey arrives at the modern age and you will be entertained with a wide range of musical styles that characterize the music of the 20th century.

One of theimportant developments was the rise of the American mmercaland the-popular styles such as jazz and blues Threugh the merum of modern technology , their influence was felt around the world . Composers in many different countries also drew on their own folk traditions to create new musical styles and the result is an incredibly rich diversity of music from around the globe that makes up the music of the modern age

We are happy to present a variety of modern musical selections in today’s concert. There are numbers from famous Broadway musicals such as The King and I, Singing in the Rain , and Cats, as well as classic jazz standards, favorite Beatles tunes , and much beautiful piano music. Another feature of this concert is that for the first time we are presenting choir selections with choreography, along with several chamber ensembles of instrumental and vocal music.
